Award Honors Excellence in Integrity, Leadership, and Community Impact
Indianapolis, IN – August 25, 2025 — The Indiana Independent Auto Dealers Association (IIADA) is proud to announce Bob Walczak of Omni Auto Sales as the recipient of the 2025 Joe Krier Indiana Quality Dealer of the Year Award. This prestigious honor is presented annually in tribute to Joe Krier, founder of Joe’s Auto Sales, whose legacy of excellence continues through the leadership of his son, Drew Krier.
The Joe Krier Award recognizes an independent dealer who exemplifies the highest standards of integrity, leadership, and community service across Indiana’s independent auto industry.
When presenting the award, IIADA Board President Travis Baldwin reflected on Bob Walczak’s remarkable journey:
“In 1976, Kenneth Walczak opened State Line Motors in Calumet City, Illinois, planting the seed for a family business that would grow for generations. Just a few years later, in 1983, he expanded with Omni Auto Sales in Whiting, Indiana. Two years after that, when Bob was a senior in high school, an employee left the business and Kenneth asked him if he wanted to give it a try—‘see what you can do,’ he said.
Bob eagerly accepted, working after school and quickly discovering his passion for the auto industry. That decision in 1985 marked the beginning of a career that has now spanned four decades.
Under Bob’s leadership, Omni Auto Sales has built an exceptional online reputation, a loyal customer base, and a reputation for honesty, transparency, and trust. His dealership continues to embody the same family values of service and integrity that began nearly 50 years ago.
Bob’s impact goes far beyond the dealership. He’s involved in the community, supporting local initiatives that strengthen families and neighborhoods. He also serves as a board member with the association, as well as on our Legislative Committee, where he works to protect and advance the interests of independent dealers across the state.
Married to his wife, Tammy, and a proud father of two, Bob has dedicated his life to his family, his business, and his community. Today, we are proud to recognize those lifelong commitments by announcing that Bob Walczak of Omni Auto Sales has been selected as the 2025 Joe Krier Quality Dealer of the Year.”
